CESS
Central Electrolyte Supply System

  • CESS is a system for unloading, storing, and supplying electrolytes required for battery production
  • Electrolyte from the tank lorry is stored in a storage tank via piping lines, and the stored electrolyte is subdivided
into a Local tank or Buffer Tank
  • The stored facility electrolyte supplied to the final electrolyte production facility (PKG)
via MCB for electrolyte distribution is transported by pressurized NITROGEN (N2)

Technical Description

공정 순서

Unloading Cabinets

  • the tank lorry is in place, the electrolyte coupler is connected to pressurize the NITROGEN(N2) to transfer the electrolyte to the storage tank
  • Electrolyte record management is done via PLC, touchscreen, and barcode reader
전해액 관리

Storage Tank

  • Storage tank for storing electrolytes supplied from outside and for supplying the battery electrolyte injection equipment when required
  • In order to prevent deterioration of the electrolyte, a jacket is made on the outer side of the tank and chilled water is circulated to maintain a constant temperature

Separator Tank

  • Tank for separating gas and liquid
  • CESS is a system for transporting electrolytes by means of nitrogen pressurization which causes nitrogen to containsmall amounts of electrolyte andtherefore separation of gas and electrolyte is required
  • The separated gas is discharged to the A/C Tower, and the electrolyte accumulates in the tank and is periodically discharged into the wastewater tank

Waste Tank

  • Storage tank for discharging waste electrolytes generated during system operation ( Waste liquid generated during CESS process / Cleaning liquid stemming from electrolyte replacement)
  • Discharging is determined by the operator
폐 전해액 관리

A/C Tower

  • NITROGEN used in the electrolyte transfer is discharged externally
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) gases mixed with nitrogen are discharged through an activated carbon filter when discharging into the atmosphere.

Multi Coupler Box (MCB)

  • Dispensing the electrolyte requested by the battery injection facility
  • Separation by electrolyte type
